Fun Fact: you cats would probably read Oscar Wilde’s Salome’s John the Baptist as describing the world once Jesus is come to be like a rose blossoming. In the original, French version, the world is said to be like an opening lily.

Bill sent me a  link to this generator, which pairs random Family Circus illustrations with random Nietzsche quotes, years ago, and I’ve just recently re-discovered it. Here are some of my personal favorites:

People who have given us their complete confidence believe that they have a right to ours. The inference is false, a gift confers no rights.

Im not upset that you lied to me, Im upset that from now on I cant believe you.

I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you.

Perhaps I know best why it is man alone who laughs; he alone suffers so deeply that he had to invent laughter.

Jesus, Murphy!

I am just coming off a two-month stint of creative constipation, and it feels so good… but there is one, significant, problem.

A couple days ago my writer’s block lifted just as suddenly as it had come. Eight o’clock in the morning I sat down with a cup of coffee and a slice of chunky-peanutbutter-and-banana toast, I flexed my writsts, I researched and made notes. I read and I wrote. Eventually I needed to evacuate the coffee from my bladder, and when I returned I realized that my battery was about to go at any moment and I plugged my computer into the wall.

Well…

The battery, apparently, had gone, while I was in the bathroom, so I tried to turn the computer back on. And it went on… but it didn’t power up. The screen flashed and the power light turned on, but there was no beeping or whirring or anything at all on the screen. I’ve let the battery charge for a couple days now and it’s still not turning on, no matter what. And I need my notes in there to work!

I’m on Shane’s computer now, on his guest account. The keyboard is right on the edge of the ledge and is very uncomfortable to type on. You won’t be hearing from me until I get my computer fixed, or I buy a new one. Just a heads-up.
